The Journey
I didn’t even know I struggled with forgiveness, but for 25 years my inability to process my own pain took its toll on everything and everyone within and around me.
It started with feelings of abandonment stemming from my adoption. By the age of 13 I had already endured years of sexual abuse that started when I was very young. By 14 I had been raped. I spent years suppressing the pain with drug and alcohol abuse; looking to find the answer to explain what was wrong with me. And no matter what I tried nothing brought relief. I saw no way out of the pain. I found myself repeatedly in abusive relationships with ongoing self-destructive behavior. I tried to bury and forget my past, but unfortunately, pain doesn’t work that way.
Don’t get me wrong. I told myself and others that I had forgiven those who hurt me, and for a while I 100% believed it. In reality, I had not faced those demons that would allow me to forgive and let go. And burying the past, especially out of shame, guilt, resentment or anger, doesn’t allow you to love yourself wholeheartedly.
I then embarked upon a journey that took decades and cost thousands of dollars. Consuming information from everywhere I could, including ancient texts, newspaper articles and medical publications to name a few. The most important thing I learned is that holding on to the pain of your past hinders personal growth, limits your ability to fully step into the future you deserve and wreaks havoc on your health and wellness. This internal destruction affects everyone around you. Your kids, significant other, friends; no one is immune.
Who do you want to be for yourself? To your children? To your spouse? Regardless of your past experience, it has formed who you are today from both the good and bad.
I wanted to be a better mother to my son, have healthy relationships and to feel whole and confident in the woman that I was made to be, and I also want to help others. The best way for me to do that is to share my decades of research, personal experience and encounters with those doing works of the heart; sparing you the time, struggle, cost and pain of going on this journey alone.
The tools I found in my research are the stuff that sets people free, and I want to share them all with you. Forgiveness and letting go is the solid foundation needed to build the life you want on your terms. I have compiled everything I have learned into the transformational masterclass “Forgiveness: The Art of Letting Go”. It is going to be gritty; it is going to be real. You cannot heal until you forgive. Life begins on the other side of Freedom through Forgiveness.
